Blue Lollipop Road

coming up on blr:

1.) BLR Play It Forward wrap, stories, thank you’s, photos, video and more. (Boy do we have a LOT of awesome to share! I am still buzzing on a high of love and good energy and community give back from this weekend!)

2.) Posts about my fun day at Taltree Arboretum & Gardens in Indiana and my delish dinner at @1800 in Wisconsin this summer.

3.) Where am I now (as in today 8/22) and where I will be over the next couple weeks. Hint: New places I have never been where there’s lots of glass and wine, and one Canadian stellar city that’s been on my list for a while now.

Life keeps getting better with every day I live and every place I go. Bumps, bruises, mountains of hard work and all, I am so thankful. Coming off a weekend that I worked so hard on and that was 110% enjoyed and appreciated by everyone involved makes me so proud and happy.

Doing things that matter is awesome.

what a weekend

I am still trying to wrap my head around how amazing this weekends BLR Play It Forward Event was. It was a truly magical time and I have never been so proud or felt so much love in my life. We are wrapping up event logistics, and getting ready to share photos, videos and more here so please stay tuned.

For now a thank you bigger than any thank you- to the families of Maria Greene and Brandy Brown, all the MAU Alumni, coaches, parents, friends, and community members. My heart is full and so grateful.

radio interview, support with 18, and thanks bsg!

In just a few hours I’ll be in studio with WBTN Radio 1370AM for another interview! If you’re local in VT, listen in on your regular ol’ radio, otherwise tune in live online! We will be chatting about BLR Play It Forward of course. Very excited to be invited in studio right in my hometown.

A couple other pieces of BLR event business:

1.) 18 is a very significant number for Blue Lollipop Road and our event this weekend. We’ve been rallying support and donations to help make our event and the Blue Lollipop Road Memorial Scholarship possible for months now. In the last couple days leading into the weekend, we are asking if you can, to please donate $18 to BLR. We figure this is a doable amount for just about anyone! If you’d like to donate $18 and support us, please click HERE.

2.) Big thanks to Bennington Sports & Graphics!

Owners Tom and Angela Husser have been so incredibly helpful to us with help finding t-shirts, jerseys, and soccer balls for our event! Three cheers for home town Mom-and-Pop shops who give that personalized service we all love. If anyone is interested in purchasing a BLR branded event t-shirt, please drop a line here or to [email protected] and we will hook you up!

A year in the making, our weekend is almost here. Oh the anticipation…

my birthday wishes

Today is 34 for me.

It’s true what “they” say, life really does get better with age.

Seems funny that even though I get more bruised up (literally and figuratively) on a weekly basis, ultimately as I sit here now, eating breakfast as my favorite hometown diner working on final prep for our big BLR Play It Forward Weekend– I feel better than ever. The bruises on my heart and ego from life’s many roller coasters, and my legs from playing things like soccer are ones that while have been hard to take at times, I wouldn’t give up for the world.

The “marks” on the inside and outside of my body have taught me to live fearlessly, and to go after what I want with a security that if what I want doesn’t work out, something even better will be waiting for me because I am following my heart. They’ve taught me to never be afraid of loving people and telling them when I do, because life is too short and time is too precious. I think that is awesome.

The more banged up we are, the more life we have really lived. I’ll take that any day.

My birthday wishes for today/this year:

1.) For this special upcoming weekend to be every bit as amazing and powerful as I know it will be.

2.) For anyone who I interact with to always be as honest and truthful with me as I am with them.

3.) To again have as many real genuine laughs and minutes with people I love and doing things I love, that I’ve had in the past 364 days.

Here’s to bruises that lead us to people and places we never imagined were even out there, the bumps that make us tougher and smarter, and to what huge awesomeness a single year can bring.

WHOOP! Watch out 35! I am coming for you…

with love – strong mojo

I am beyond honored and excited to share news about this incredible piece of work made for our BLR Play It Forward Event. Our coach, mentor, friend, and wildly accomplished Artist Traci Molloy who is part of our MAU Soccer Alumni, has created this special piece of art:

With love - Strong Mojo by Traci Molloy

With love - Strong Mojo by Traci Molloy

They are both photo based silkscreens, as you can see above, one set of prints has hand drawing on top. There are 15 prints available in the photo only based edition, and 12 prints in the photo based edition with hand drawing on top. This piece is for sale and titled “With love- Strong Mojo.”

Traci is generously offering these prints for $50 (unframed) for the soccer community. If you’d like to pre-order/hold one on reserve before the Artist Reception at the Vermont Arts Exchange on August 18, please e-mail Traci directly at [email protected]. The prints would normally be worth $200. Part of the proceeds will go to the Blue Lollipop Road Memorial Scholarship.

We love you Traci! Thank you for making such a beautiful piece.

green space and delish dinner

The best parts about my travel have always been the people, places and food. I’ve been invited to visit  more exciting places and to eat more delicious food than I ever imagined I would in a lifetime. Oh the fun.

A few weeks back I was invited to and attended the Taltree Arboretum and Gardens Annual Gala in Indiana, and tonight I’ve been invited to have dinner at @1800 in Wisconsin. I will be posting about both of these within the next week and as usual I can’t wait to share, always hoping you all out there will be inspired to do things that you love and that you think are delicious and exciting.

Here’s to delicious and exciting!
