From 9/2 through 9/19, 2011, American Honda Motor Company loaned me a 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid to take a road trip adventure. They also covered some of my travel expenses which was a super special treat!
Check out this gorgeous environmentally-focused vehicle I drove:
The car was awesome! Even though I had a ton of luggage and gear weighing the trunk and back seat down, I averaged 41.9 mpg so I spent even less than I normally do on gas! Love that.
During the trip I met and hung out with the one and only Million Mile Joe for a day:
…along with a bunch of other interesting characters. I took votes throughout the trip as to where you all wanted to me to check out, eat, who to meet, etc. so thank you to all who voted! The 17 day trip started in NJ and went through VT, NH, ME, then to VA, NC and PA, then finally ended at the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island in NYC (the winner of the Honda Facebook pool as the top place to send me!)
Thank you so much for coming along for the ride! I had an amazing time. I got to once again explore why people love where they live and what got them there, nosh at some fantastic food joints, wander interesting towns and talk to locals; My most favorite things to do. (If you haven’t already- scroll through September and check out my posts!)
Currently I’m home basing in Chicago. I went back to Maine after my September trip to celebrate Million Mile Joe Day with Joe and Honda on 10/23/11. What a great time that was. WAY TO GO JOE, and THANK YOU HONDA! I look forward to getting on the road again…
